On 9-11 November, the first Travel Tech Hackathon in Lithuania will take place at VU TechHub (Saulėtekio al. 9, 2nd floor, 2nd building, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Vilnius University), organised by the National Agency for Tourism Promotion "Lithuania Travel". We invite you to register both individually and in teams!

About the Hackathon

The Travel Tech Hackathon is an intensive, 48-hour event during which hackathon participants (registered teams or teams made up of individual registrants) will create a concrete solution to tourism challenges. As there will not be much time to create a solution, teams... can work overnight! It is up to the team to decide if they want to do this, but they will be able to spend unlimited time on the hackathon premises.

Mentors will help the teams to develop solutions, advising them several times a day on the best direction to take and what else is worth thinking about. At the end of the event, the solutions proposed by the teams will be evaluated by a jury of Lithuanian and foreign experts.

Who can I participate?

Anyone interested in tourism can join. You can register for the hackathon with a team, but you can also register individually - teams will be formed at the beginning of the hackathon. Optimal team size is up to 5 people. The hackathon teams can be diverse, consisting of representatives from different fields: e.g. tourism experts propose a solution, developers create a demo version of the solution, business representatives propose how to implement it financially (e.g. whether it will be a paid or free service, how it will be maintained). Throughout the hackathon, participants will work with the same team to solve one challenge chosen at the start of the hackathon.

Benefits of the hackathon

The Travel Tech Hackathon is a unique experience to test and develop your idea with peers, mentors and partners, but more importantly, participants will have the opportunity to network with investment fund representatives and maybe even find an investor! As many as 7 investment funds are partners of this event!
