As the academic year gets underway, VU FEBA students embark on visits and excursions to Lithuanian and international companies and organizations, where they can familiarize themselves with potential employers and learn more about internship and career opportunities. In early November, second and fourth-year students in the Bachelor's degree program in Accounting and Audit, accompanied by lecturers Daiva Tamulevičienė and Diana Bachtijeva, attended the 'Meet & Greet' open day/event hosted by the international professional services company 'EY Lietuva' (EY).
The students were met and accompanied throughout the event by EY's Employer Branding Coordinator Justina Zigmantė and the talent team. The event started with a discussion with representatives from different departments of the company. The discussion focused on EY's culture, values, various career and learning opportunities, and the students learnt more about the activities that interns do; how long it takes to move up the career ladder; what were the most memorable and challenging projects the panelists have worked on, etc.
After the panel discussion, guests were invited to take a walk around the EY office and interact directly with EY staff. The students took a keen interest in the work of the audit, accounting and tax departments and enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the organization up close and personal.
