We’re proud to join the ENERPOL project under Horizon Europe’s Excellence Pillar, coordinated by the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). The project brings together leading institutions to explore policy strategies that empower households in the energy transition, redefining them as not just consumers, but also producers and flexibility providers critical to a fair, climate-neutral energy system.

ENERPOL tackles energy inequality by combining behavioural insights with granular data on household income, wealth, and energy consumption to address disparities in coping with volatile energy prices. Running from March 2026 to February 2030, the project brings together 9 partner institutions within a 24-member consortium across 10 countries. Our key partners include UC Louvain, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and AB Energijos skirstymo operatorius.

The project will train 14 doctoral candidates through an innovative programme that integrates cutting-edge research with interdisciplinary perspectives from economics, energy policy, behavioural science, and data analytics. As a beneficiary, Vilnius University will contribute to providing a truly international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral training environment, equipping fellows with the skills needed to shape equitable, data-driven energy policies and pursue impactful careers across academia, industry, and policy.

Recruitment for doctoral positions starting Autumn 2026 will begin towards the end of 2025 and early 2026. Stay tuned for project updates and more information.
