The Bank of Lithuania has established the Vladas Terleckas Scholarship, intended for the most promising students of the Quantitative Economics study program at Vilnius University (VU) and applicants to this study program.
The scholarship aims to encourage the most talented Lithuanian students to choose the Quantitative Economics study program at VU instead of similar bachelor's programs at foreign universities, to prepare analysts who meet the standards of the best universities and will contribute to the qualitative change in data analysis and forecasting in the country, as well as to prepare future specialists for the Bank of Lithuania. data analytics, and forecasting in the country, as well as to prepare future specialists for the Bank of Lithuania.
A total of three scholarships are awarded each year—one each to first-, second-, and third-year students of quantitative economics. The amount of one scholarship is 5 MMA (minimum monthly wage set by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania).
The scholarship is available to students of quantitative economics at Vilnius University, provided they have no outstanding academic requirements and do not work more than 20 hours per week. The same student may receive the scholarship for several years in a row.
What documents must students submit in order to receive a scholarship?
- A free-form application for a scholarship
- A certificate of academic performance from the university (submitted by second- and third-year students)
- A copy of the certificate (submitted by applicants)
- A free-form letter of motivation
- A written recommendation from the assigned mentor (applicable to second- and third-year students; applicants do not need to submit this)
The scholarship application must be submitted no later than September 15 (inclusive).
