We are happy to invite you to the research seminar by the Center for Economic Expertise. On April 25th Carlos Flavián (University of Zaragoza) will present the topic „Improving the customer experience through artificial intelligence“ in 35-30 room/ TechHub

Brief overview of the seminar

Historically, new technologies like the Industrial Revolution's machines faced resistance before being accepted for increasing productivity. The presentation explores factors influencing service implementation based on AI, including (1) Interface or robot design aspects like aesthetics, notification, manipulability, proactivity, affect, and formality. (2) Customer characteristics like technology readiness, age, gender, culture, personality, and tier also impact robot acceptance. (3) Service encounter factors like information provision, involvement level, failure handling, product/service context, transaction/relationship type, and employee replacement/collaboration are discussed. Overall, more research is needed to optimise the design of service robots, understand customer segments' preferences, and determine suitable service contexts for successful implementation while addressing ethical concerns.
