COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
The compulsory professional internship is included in all VU FEBA undergraduate study programmes. The main goal of the compulsory professional internship is to consolidate and apply in practice the knowledge acquired during studies. The value of the compulsory professional internship is at least 15 credits. The compulsory professional internship is carried out at the time specified in the bachelor's study programme plan and amounts to 390 academic hours (14 weeks). The compulsory professional internship can be carried out in Lithuania or in a foreign country.

STAGES OF THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
FINDING A PLACE FOR THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
Students may consult the internship coordinator of the programme (branch) (see table below) and/or the assigned FEBA internship supervisor for the suitability of the internship institution. Please refer to the following requirements for internship institutions too:

SIGNING AND REGISTERING THE AGREEMENT ON A COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
The signing of the compulsory internship agreements for the period 2021-2022 will be done remotely by one of the chosen ways (please note: all parties to the agreement must sign the agreement in the same way: by e-signature or on paper):
- E-signature. The agreement of professional internship is signed by the student and the company on the Dokobit platform (see instructions). The student sends the agreement by e-mail to the study programme administrator. The agreement e-signed by VU FEBA is then forwarded to the student by e-mail.
- On paper. The paper agreement of professional internship is signed by the student and the company. The student sends the scanned agreement by e-mail to the study programme administrator. The signed by VU FEBA and scanned agreement is then forwarded to the student by e-mail.
Students, who are not able to sign the Internship agreement due to serious reasons or who have found an internship position in a foreign country, have to present an official confirmation letter from the accepting institution. The official confirmation letter should include the following information:
- The exact dates of the professional internship;
- The agreement of the internship institution to assign an internship supervisor, their position in the institution, name, surname (contact details can also be included);
- The confirmation of the internship institution, that it will provide the student with necessary conditions for carrying out the internship;
- The official confirmation letter should be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration by the authorities of the internship institution. The official confirmation letter has to include the official details of the institution and has to be signed and stamped by the authorities of the internship institution.

PREPARING AND DEFENDING THE REPORT OF THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
At the end of the compulsory professional internship, the student prepares and defends an internship report. The internship report is defended with the VU FEBA internship supervisor assigned to the student, who gives the final evaluation of the internship.
CREDITING OF THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
Students with at least 1 year of professional experience may have their professional experience counted as the compulsory professional internship in the study programme if it meets the requirements for the professional internship.
The student must submit an e-application for the crediting of his/her professional experience, a description of the experience and other evidence of the experience via VU IS. This should be done no later than 15 December (if the compulsory professional internship is scheduled in the spring semester) and no later than 15 May (if the compulsory professional internship is scheduled in the autumn semester).
The crediting of a student's professional experience shall be decided by the study programme committee of the specific study programme on the basis of the Description of the procedure for the recognition of competencies acquired by Vilnius University students through non-formal or self-education and the crediting of study subjects/modules
QUANTITATIVE ECONOMICS COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
VOLUNTARY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
VU FEBA bachelor and master students may undertake a voluntary professional internship that is not directly related to their studies and is not part of their study programme. The voluntary professional internship is intended to acquire or develop the student's general or specific skills. No study credits are awarded for the voluntary professional internship. Students who have completed a voluntary professional internship shall not prepare a professional internship report.
STAGES OF THE VOLUNTARY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
The voluntary professional internship can be carried out in Lithuania or abroad. The voluntary professional internship can be carried out in any semester of studies. The timing of the voluntary professional internship cannot coincide with the academic timetable.
The voluntary professional internship can be carried out individually or in a group (e.g. VU Smart internship https://www.vu.lt/en/studies/academic-info-for-students/internships-traineeships/smart-internship).
Students wishing to undertake a voluntary professional internship must sign a bilateral or trilateral agreement with the internship institution (VU FEBA Tripartite voluntary professional internship agreement template). VU FEBA Tripartite voluntary professional internship agreement, signed electronically by the student and the internship institution, must be sent to the study coordinator (see https://www.evaf.vu.lt/en/about-the-faculty/structure/study-office). The agreement signed by the VU FEBA Vice-dean of Studies will be registered and forwarded to the student.
GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
VU FEBA bachelor and master graduates can carry out a graduate professional internship within one year after graduation. This professional internship does not award study credits and is intended to consolidate in practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the studies.
STAGES OF THE GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
A graduate internship is only available under the Erasmus+ programme, where graduates go abroad to an internship institution of their choice. After completing the graduate professional internship, the graduate does not prepare an internship report.
