Although Lithuania declared emergency and quarantine, the study and research process at Vilnius University (VU) does not stop: the decision to conduct a remote study process became not only the challenge but was also a stimulus to implement innovative work measures. On the 27th of March, in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), for the first time in history, a doctoral dissertation in Social sciences was defended remotely.

Vilnius University has decided to preventively halt the study process for the upcoming 14 days starting from the 13 of March until 27 of March with a possibility to extend the deadline if needed. Students and employees should study remotely via on-line measures - lectures and seminars will not be happening in the University's classes.
The Dedalus project – DEveloping DAta Literacy courses for University Students – aims to equip students with the necessary skills to meet future digital challenges and create added value for the companies and industries in which they will be employed. At the same time, by providing CPD qualifications for university professionals, it will develop the digital literacy skills of educators and enable them to transfer these skills into their practice.
Vilnius University Council has elected a new rector – prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas.
