Pavadinimas: Improving Problem-solving Skills with Smart Personal Assistants

Santrauka: Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) have often tried to address the challenge of offering individual support by leveraging the potentials of IT. Although there is general consensus about the effectiveness of ITS, they are still not integrated enough into learning environments. One reason for that might be that developing and introducing ITS often requires a high amount of technological knowledge and required time from the educator. New emerging Smart Personal Assistants (SPAs) such as Google’s Assistant or Amazon’s Alexa have the potential to overcome the challenges faced by prior ITS. Hence, in this paper we seek to answer the following two research questions: To what extent does using a Smart Personal Assistant help learners develop their problem-solving skills? How does using a Smart Personal Assistant affect the learning process of learners? The findings suggest that the use of SPAs in everyday learning environments is an efficient way to develop learners’ long-term problem-solving skills..

Seminaras vyks anglų kalba. Vadybos krypties doktorantų dalyvavimas yra privalomas.
